SWG undertook the planned maintenance works, extensive external works and communal upgrade to five blocks of occupied flats housing elderly, disabled and vulnerable residents.


The works comprised new slip resistant and waterproof path network, new parking bays, new drainage channels, and soft landscaping along with a new staircase and balustrade handrails. We undertook electrical works to the kitchen and bathroom areas of each property including smoke detector installation and electrical works to the communal areas. New front and rear communal doors were fitted linking to the intercom system. A new community decking area and new storage area for mobility scooters with charging points were also installed.


With works undertaken within occupied dwellings, close liaison was essentie safety throughout the project. Due to the layout of the site, the geographical split of works spanned three roads. Health and safety management was key to ensure mitigation of any incidents. Access and egress was maintained through developing our methodology in conjunction with tenants.
