Laying the foundations for the future with several new projects
29 Aug 2023

It’s a busy time for us at SWG with several major projects secured - and more on the way.

We are delighted with the way things are going and are always pleased to welcome new clients on board, along with repeat contracts from those we have worked with on past projects.

There’s a lot going on, so here’s a round-up of the latest projects we are involved in.

Ysgol Pennant

Our team started work on-site at the primary school near Oswestry in July. The project involves the removal of an existing conservatory and the building of a new timber frame, brick-clad single-storey classroom extension under a slate roof, which incorporates Velux windows to provide natural light.

We are undertaking mechanical works to reconfigure the existing toilets, providing new sanitary-ware cubicles, putting in a new access ramp, making internal alterations to form new fire escapes and access and adding a new floor, wall finishes, internal doors, and decoration.

This is a very exciting and major project! Enabling work on this Grade ll Listed Building began in June to fit-out two shops for existing tenants to move into. Our main programme of work then started in August and involves the full refurbishment of the Butchers Market and the General Market including new internal stalls.

More specifically we are providing a full M&E upgrade and fit-out including new BMS, the creation of new market stalls, including security shutters, and we are carrying out roof repairs which involves roof-light replacement incorporating M&E controls.

We are also undertaking the replacement and refurbishment of the historic shop fronts, carrying out level access works to the Butchers Market and taking on some important stonework repairs.
