New relationship sees SWG Group expand into North Wales
15 Oct 2024

We are delighted to announce that we have joined the North Wales Construction Partnership framework.

Established in 2002 and having worked with clients from diverse fields, we have successfully delivered high-quality, multi-million-pound refurbishment and renovation contracts together with new build projects in respect of public and private markets.

We provide construction services across Wales and the West Midlands, so this exciting partnership is enabling us to build new contacts in North Wales.

Business Wales

Our senior leadership team have been working with Business Wales, particularly supporting HR practices, Supply Chain development and Relationship Management growth activities, to further enhance our commercial strategy and to introduce the company to new markets in the public sector.

Securing a place on the new North Wales Construction Partnership framework is great news for us as a business, opening the door for SWG Group into North Wales. With our head office in Welshpool bordering this area, SWG is in an ideal position to service this area.

Thriving North Wales

North Wales has a thriving local economy, and being a part of the partnership allows SWG to be part of this exciting future development.

As always, our aim is to deliver quality projects, on time and to budget and become a trusted partner to the clients engaged with the NWCP.

Julian Kirkham, director of SWG Group, says: “As a business, we are always keen to expand into new markets, and the NWCP gives us the perfect platform to build on our success.

“We have developed a proud reputation for delivering high quality projects across Mid Wales and the West Midlands, and we look forward to growing our client base in the North Wales area.”

Investing in the future

The public sector is a key target for our growth planning and strategy, and we have been pleased to see our working relationship with local authorities such as Powys County Council, Wrexham County Borough Council, Sandwell Council and Dudley Council flourish in recent years.

Due to this continued expansion, both in terms of contracts and the geographical area we cover, we have been recruiting heavily across the business.

The pre-construction team and commercial team have grown considerably, along with our operations team and support staff. This has allowed us the opportunity to invest in continued employee development, along with recruiting additional apprentices and trainees to work with our existing professionals to grow their own careers.

This September we have taken on two additional Construction degree apprentices, two Quantity Surveyor degree apprentices and an Accounts apprentice.

Our increased geographical catchment has meant we can now offer these opportunities to students in new areas and in collaboration with new education providers, including Glyndwr University in Wrexham.
