Re-roofing of the slate roof including the bell tower on a Grade 2 Listed building.

Works comprised repointing and brickwork repairs. Existing mortars were removed with all joints raked out using hand tools and cleaned down and repointed in lime mortar in line with CADW requirements. We undertook the careful strip of the existing slates, ridge tiles to all pitched roof areas. Roof coverings were stripped in sections to protect the internal building fabric. Protection of the pipework, services, tanks and electrical services running within the roof space areas was undertaken. We then installed vapour permeable insulation and refixed roof slates to the new battens in accordance with BS 5534:2003. Repairs and decoration were also undertaken to the bell tower.
