Renovation of a Grade 2 listed building to convert a former bank into offices and consultation rooms

Work Details

This project included the internal and external refurbishment to an existing Grade II listed building to provide commercial space, together with an extension to the rear to provide a consultation facility. The internal works consisted of a full renovation of the existing building including mechanical and electrical, brickwork, plastering, decoration and flooring. The original roof was replaced re-using the existing slates and stripping tiles and battens in sections to ensure continued weather protection to the internal ornate plaster ceiling and coving. The roof itself was complex with multiple valleys, hips, and chimneys requiring lead
gutters and flashings. In addition, a rear extension was constructed to compliment the existing building. Works included roof lights, plastering and paint finish and sheet flooring.

SWG worked closely with local Conservation Officers to ensure existing features and alterations were carried out in the correct and sensitive manner required.
