Our 20th anniversary year is going well and charities are benefiting from our celebrations!
SWEAT AND MUD SO FAR
Our challenges have included sweat and mud!
Different members of the SWG Group team have tackled each, but we’ve had so much fun in the meantime and it’s been a huge achievement.
Four team members successfully completed the Welshpool 10k almost £600 in the process for the Ponthafren Association, a mental health charity in Mid Wales.
And we’re still collecting, you can donate here.
The Shropshire Mud Run was a dirty affair – but only up to the armpits! You can see from the pictures that the group of six SWG Group workers didn’t fancy a muddy face or shoulders but tackled the course as elegantly as they could!
They collected almost £200 for the Welsh Air Ambulance, based at Welshpool Airport – and again, you can still donate here.
SWG Group’s financial controller Sophie Shorey saddled up for a 24 hour Spinathon in April in aid of The Derwen Charity, which supports the work of Derwen College near Oswestry. She raised an incredible £495 in sponsorship – and you can still donate here.
DONATIONS
As well as challenges, we’ve looked to donate to local causes too.
We handed over donations to the exciting and enjoyable 1940s Welshpool Weekend, Monty Literary Festival and Treowen Jubilee Celebrations, helping to bring communities together.
We also gave The Radnorshire Wildlife Trust £1,750 to help repair and replace the fencing at Pentwyn Farm.
You can find out more about this donation, what it’s for and the incredible work of the trust in our blog here.
