SWG Group hitting the road again with a raft of new projects
Harper Adams University, near Newport, Shropshire – New cattle-handling facility
Our brief is to build an extension to the main dairy, providing a new cattle handling facility at the Harper Adams University Farm and Harper-Keele Veterinary School Facility.
It includes superstructure and substructure works, installing concrete foundations, flooring, the provision of a new steel frame open side structure with a mono-pitched roof, rooms for veterinary functions, roof and wall coverings, gate and fencing solutions and all associated mechanical and electrical service installations inside and outside of the building area.
Prysmian Group, Wrexham – Office space refurbishment
SWG is assisting cable specialist company Prysmian Group with the refurbishment of office space at its base in Wrexham. The work includes some minor layout changes, replacing internal finishes, furniture, and fixtures, providing new curtain walling and windows, and installing mechanical, electrical, fire alarm, and other equipment.
Re-roofing project – Powys County Council
We have been contracted to re-roof local authority properties in North Powys on behalf of Powys County Council – the sixth year that we have been successful in helping bring Powys County Council housing up to Welsh Housing Quality Standards.
Whitgreave Street, West Bromwich – New build project
Sandwell Council has engaged us on a new build housing scheme at Whitgreave Street, consisting of six separate dwellings – four-bedroomed semi-detached houses.
Coton Hill House, Shrewsbury – Development of supported housing
SWG is providing 25 self-contained supported housing one-bedroom apartments – set for completion early next year and forming part of Shropshire Councilโs temporary accommodation plans.
Work involves the renovation and conversion of what was a care facility, including all associated external works, drainage, services and infrastructure works. The new layout includes 11 apartments on the ground floor and 14 on the first floor. We will also install support offices, a plant room, shared facilities, communal areas, stairwells and lifts.
Llysnant, Llanidloes – Roof Conversion
Our involvement here on behalf of Powys County Council includes constructing a new pitched roof, installing new rainwater goods alongside associated drainage connections works.
Y Lanfa, Welshpool, Powys – Extension and refurbishment
SWG is extending the Y Lanfa footprint into the existing canopy to create floor space on both the ground and first floors, refit the first-floor museum space and install a new passenger lift alongside general repairs and other refurbishment works.
The wharf area is to be levelled and resurfaced whilst the canal-side cottages are to be white boxed. The work is being carried out on behalf of Powys County Council.
