Huge progress made to bring Telford properties back to life
12 May 2022

We’ve made huge progress with bringing properties in Telford back to life, we thought we’d show you the work we’ve done.

SWG staff and contractors have been on site across Coalbrookdale, Dawley, Donnington, Hadley, Ketley, Trench, Wellington and Wrockwardine Wood since November.

We’ve completed the upgrade of six of the 13 properties there and made huge headway on the others - we’re due to finish the remaining work by the end of May.

Over halfway there

Take a look at these pictures to see the transformation to make these void properties thrive again.

SWG Group has stripped out all internal fixtures and fittings, replastered, fit new kitchens and bathroom suites and redecorated throughout.

Some homes have had complete heating systems and new flat roofs installed while all of them have had partial rewiring carried out and new vinyl and carpets laid.

Externally we’ve cleared gardens of rubbish and sheds and made an enjoyable space to relax in.

Priority housing scheme

The scheme will help provide housing options for priority client groups, including care leavers and people providing low level care, key workers, young people and veterans.

It is part of a Telford & Wrekin Council scheme investing £13million into the acquisition and refurbishment of around 100 homes for a mixture of private

and affordable rent.
