SWG Construction is nearing completion of building an extension for a successful international firm based in Newtown.
The extension required the construction of a steel portal frame, involving extensive groundwork and the use of innovative materials to ensure maximum energy efficiency.
The company
TRAX produces wheel balance weights and has grown over the years into a well-established international firm, one of the largest balance weight makers in Europe serving more than 25 countries.
The firm, named Business of the Year in 2017, has also expanded to include a presence in the ever-growing American market.
The project
The project, at the firm’s headquarters on Mochdre Enterprise Park in Newtown, involved groundworks, installing steel cladding and making the building more energy-efficient.
Nigel Stephens, commercial director of SWG Group, says: “This was a major construction which required a fair amount of forward planning in order for TRAX to keep working at maximum efficiency while we were doing the work.
“As with many of our projects, we were working in a live environment which means being considerate with our logistical arrangements, such as coordinating work around important deliveries arriving from China and keeping disruption to an absolute minimum.
“The project required the construction of a steel portal frame, involving extensive groundwork and the use of innovative materials to ensure maximum energy efficiency.
“Energy efficiency is becoming increasingly important and something more people are viewing as an essential part of any building or renovation project - something we are very passionate about ourselves.
“It’s great to see a local company like TRAX doing so well and we wish them all the very best for their future.”
