Work progresses at Wrexham Markets
05 Oct 2023

It is great to be a part of this crucial project aimed at rejuvenating both the General Market and Butchers Markets in Wrexham centre as part of the Cities Regeneration Scheme, which we are undertaking on behalf of Wrexham County Borough Council.

We began work on this project late summer and are excited to restore the buildings treasures and breathe a breath of fresh air into both Grade II listed buildings.

So, what’s happening on Site

We have erected hoarding protection and created a safe pedestrian walkway and wheelchair access to ensure the continuity of business at the ever so popular Tracey’s café. Additionally, we have expanded the café by creating an additional seating area. We understand that it may not be the quietest of spaces, but it certainly adds an interesting element for visitors with all this work taking place. Our teams are continuing with the general strip-out of the market stalls and new restaurant areas on the first and ground floors as well as the Mechanical strip out. We are also progressing well with the temporary propping works in preparation of the new structural steel installation to what will be the new café seating area on Henblas Street.

The new open plan spaces will be vibrant while preserving the traditional features of the Grade II listed buildings and incorporating a touch of modernization. This scheme will provide a better trading environment, convenient shopping, and dining destination for all to enjoy.
