what we do
SWG has in place effective plans, controls, and measures to limit their impact on the environment both locally and further afield.
We undertake the following to ensure our operations are undertaken in a sustainable way:
Waste – We work with subcontractors and waste contractors to reduce the level of waste produced on our projects. We commit to 90% diversion from landfill on all our projects.
Reduction of onsite energy consumption – Where possible we use high performance eco-cabins which reduce the amount of energy required to run site welfare, including reducing water consumption.
Material sourcing – We source materials from local sources where possible reducing transport of materials and increasing the financial impact for the community.
Timber – We only use Sustainable Timber from legal FSC / PEFC fully audited sustainable sources.
Reducing CO2 emissions from travel – We use a vehicle tracker system monitoring speed and distance travelled of company vehicles. SWG vehicles are under 5yrs old and low emission. We promote the use of electric vehicles and remote working.
