There is an amazing group of people helping people in Welshpool who are self-isolating during the coronavirus pandemic - they are known as the Welshpool Community Angels.
Our head office is in Welshpool, and many of our staff live in the area, so we were keen to do our bit to help by donating £300 to the group which will help provide food and support for those in need.

SWG delighted to help Welshpool Community Angels
MORE THAN 100 PEOPLE HAVE VOLUNTEERED TO BE PART OF THE ORGANISATION FORMED BY POWYS COUNTY COUNCILLOR GRAHAM BREEZE, REV STEVE WILLSON ON BEHALF OF WELSHPOOL CHURCHES, INTERIM WELSHPOOL TOWN COUNCIL CLERK ANNA WILSON, TOWN COUNCILLOR NICOLA MORRIS, JOHN MORGAN AND SUPPORTED BY WENDY YAPP, MANAGER OF THE ANN HOLLOWAY DAY CENTRE WHICH IS OWNED BY THE TOWN COUNCIL.
AS WELL AS SUPPORTING THE ISOLATED, THE GROUP HAS HELPED EXPAND THE TOWN COUNCIL-RUN MEALS ON WHEELS SERVICE FROM UNDER 10 CLIENTS PER DAY TO NEARLY 50 .
Councillor Breeze said: “We are extremely grateful for the amazing support of businesses such as SWG Group.
“We need vital funds to keep up the level of support needed by the Welshpool community during this difficult period for us all.
“The money will help ensure we can meet the demand for hot meals for those in need and also help those isolated and without family or friends to support them.”
Jacqui Gough, director and company secretary of SWG, said the firm was keen to do whatever it could to help the local community.
“Everyone is still reeling from the lockdown, and like many companies we have massively scaled back our current work due to the restrictions, but we want to help where we can,” she said.
“The Welshpool Community Angels are doing an amazing job to transport food and vital deliveries, such as medical prescriptions, to people here in Welshpool.
“We hope our contribution will help them continue their fantastic work while we all try to get through these difficult times.”
